2016: HPE signed the contract for half a billion dollars with the Pentagon
On April 21, 2016 it became known of the prisoner between the Pentagon and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) the ten-year IT contract worth nearly half a billion dollars.
According to the Reuters news agency with reference to the statement of the U.S. Department of U.S. Defense Department, Hewlett Packard Enterprise will render to the American Strategic command (U.S. Strategic Command, Stratcom) a number of IT services and also services in support and further deployment of information infrastructure.
The agreement is signed with division of HP of Enterprise Services, specializing in services of consulting, outsourcing and system integration. Within the contract the American company will receive 443.2 million dollars for the services rendered to the Pentagon.[1]
It is noted that infrastructure of Stratcom includes a set of local networks to which about 13 thousand personal computers, workstations, stationary and mobile servers using the commercial and state software are connected.
Specialists of HP of Enterprise Services will execute IT tasks for Strategic command on military base of the American Air Force in Omaha (the State of Nebraska, the USA). HP Enterprise Services will have to implement the project for the Defense Ministry till 2026.
Involvement of HP of Enterprise Services as the contractor of Stratcom became a part of the large ITCC II program within which full support of IT infrastructure of command which including includes development of systems, integration, operational and maintenance, logistics, system administration and configuration management is provided.
