In May, 2018 it became known that in China at one of schools implement a system with elements of artificial intelligence and support of a sensing technology of persons which monitors that pupils saved concentration on occupations. A system will notify the teacher if someone from school students falls asleep on a school desk during a lesson instead of reading the textbook or to listen to an explanation.

According to Reuters agency which refers to the news edition The Paper, the technology is developed by the Chinese decision maker for videonablyudeniyahikvision Digital Technology, one of the leading brands in this area.

The smart system which is already working at high school No. 11 of the Chinese city of Hangzhou in real time can distinguish emotions on persons of school students, such as happiness, disgust, a fright, rage and bewilderment and also to estimate degree of their attention. To each pupil points for attentiveness which on the display are seen by the teacher are charged.

In administration of school in Hangzhou the innovation is called "a smart system on management of behavior in a class". In an interview of media the associate director of educational institution Zhang Guanqun noted that a system will help to improve interaction between school students and teachers.

According to the representative of school, the technology is tested for a month. Pupils already began to get used to observation and change to the best the behavior.

However some people are dissatisfied with such close attention to pupils and are indignant in social networks.

Human rights activists express concern because of widespread introduction in the People's Republic of China of video surveillance systems, warning that similar technologies can serve not only for the good purposes, such as security and capture of criminals, but also for total shadowing citizens and identification of dissidents.[1]
