In the State Hermitage pilot zone 5G began to work

The 5G is a new generation of standards for radio systems and a network architecture which maintains high data transfer rate and processing of large volume of traffic, superreliable connections with a low delay and mass connection of devices of Internet of Things for the most various problems of development of society. At the same time the technology will be able to support up to 1 million devices on 1 sq.m. In the future, standard 5G should become one of reference technologies in digital economy and be involved in such directions as Internet of Things, the smart city, smart production, smart house, smart transport.

For demonstration of network functioning of a 5G, in the Hermitage submitted one of possible scenarios of use of networks of new generation to restorations. Using the robohand managed at distance, the employee of the museum cleared the modern copy of a sculpture from a collection of the Hermitage of the structure applied on it. The minimum delay in data transmission gives the chance to work remotely at any distances in real time. Required parameters are capable to provide only technologies 5G.

The SATEL company acted as the technology partner and performed installation of the Ericcson equipment for a territory covering of the Hermitage 5G network. After start of network, within preparation for demonstration of its work, specialists SATEL were engaged in setup and calibration of the robot, control devices and training and also collected and started a video flow of virtual reality of 360 lakes. After successful demonstration the robot was moved on the new platform where until the end of the year using new technology there will be a training of restorers of the Hermitage.

Ericsson was provided by a necessary complex of technical solutions of a 5G, Rostelecom acted as the telecommunication operator of the project – the company provided necessary radio frequencies and technology infrastructure for creation of 5G network, and the Hermitage provided the platform for testing of network.
