State Archive of the Magadan Region (SAMR)

The decision of the Magadan regional executive committee No. 12 of January 19, 1955 for ensuring centralized accounting, storage and also scientific and practical use of the archive documentary materials belonging to the state, forms the State Archive of the Magadan Region (SAMR). The staff of archive carries out acceptance, the accounting, permanent storage and scientific use of Archive fund of area, provides public services in the field of archiving. On September 24, 2009 the resolution on creation of "State Archive of the Magadan Region" regional public institution is accepted administration of the region. Documents of three regional archives were a part of archive funds of newly created organization.
