The company "Vamin Tatarstan" is formed on the basis of well-established dairy enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan. Since 2005, grain-receiving enterprises have been annexed to the company. Since 2004, investments began in agricultural enterprises formed on the basis of backward and bankrupt farms.

Composition of the company

OJSC Vamin Tatarstan includes 28 milk-processing enterprises, 10 bread-receiving enterprises, a technical and design enterprise, a trade department, fisheries and 26 agricultural companies in 15 districts of the republic. The total area of ​ ​ farmland is 443.8 thousand hectares, of which 370.0 thousand hectares of arable land. The number of cattle is 107.8 thousand heads, including a dairy herd - 40.4 thousand heads, a pig head - 86.0 thousand heads.

Performance

In 2008, the annual sales volume amounted to 14.1 billion rubles, including 3.6 billion rubles in agricultural production. The volume of milk processing in 2008 amounted to 620 thousand tons, grain production 705 thousand tons, meat 18 thousand tons.

The number of employees in the company is 21,366, including 13,554 directly employed in agriculture.

Development

In order to increase the efficiency of the livestock industry, existing livestock farms are being reconstructed and new complexes are being built, especially in dairy production, which will allow by 2012 to increase the number of cattle to 220 thousand heads, cows to 73 thousand heads, daily milk sales to 1044 tons and the number of pigs to 130 thousand heads.

Purchase of the company by the former deputy head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Chechnya Ruslan Alisultanov

Ruslan Alisultanov, who previously served as deputy minister, agriculture Chechnya acquired a 100% stake in Unimilk LLC (formerly Vamin-Tatarstan) in December 2024. The company owns 99% in Vamin R LLC, which controls the group that Health & Nutrition combines former assets in. Danone Russia

According to RBC, Ruslan Alisultanov has been working as chairman of the board of directors of Health & Nutrition since the summer of 2023. Prior to this appointment, he served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Chechnya, leaving the post of his own free will on July 17, 2023, and was also Deputy Mayor of Grozny.

Health & Nutrition noted that the change in the ownership structure will not affect the operating activities of the companies. The business is developing, increasing production volumes, revenue and investments.

The French company Danone completed the sale of Russian business in May 2024. The buyer was Vamin R LLC, created in September 2023. At the time of the transaction, the main owner was Mintimer Mingazov, the son of the former owner of the Vamin holding Vagiz Mingazov. According to the Financial Times, the deal amounted to ₽17,7 billion.

In July 2023, the shares of foreign companies in the Russian subsidiary Danone came under the temporary management of the Federal Property Management Agency in accordance with the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. After that, Danon Russia was headed by Deputy Prime Minister of Chechnya and Minister of Agriculture of the Republic Yakub Zakriev. In March 2024, the president canceled the transfer of Danone assets to the management of the Federal Property Management Agency.

The Health & Nutrition Group is planning a further development that includes expanding the assortment and increasing production volumes. This decision corresponds to the general strategy for the development of the Russian dairy industry in the context of a change in the market structure and the departure of international companies.[1]
