In Astrakhan will for the first time carry out implantation of new defibrillators of Medtronic

On June 22, 2018 there was information that in the Federal center of cardiovascular surgery of Astrakhan the defibrillators of the next generation of Viva Quad XT CRTD developed by Medtronic company will be implanted on June 29, 2018 to patients with heart failure.

As noted, this type of devices is the most difficult and intellectual of all used implanted cardiological devices in Russia. The defibrillator of Viva Quad XT CRTD allows to achieve synchronous reduction of all cameras of heart that significantly improves quality and increases life expectancy of patients with chronic heart failure. At the same time, devices give the chance to carry out the emergency diagnosis of arrhythmias, including life-threatening, and for several seconds to make their knocking over — either drawing special frequent impulses, or shock discharge.

According to researches of Medtronic, the Viva Quad XT CRTD device, unlike devices of the previous generation, provides the bigger response to therapy for 12%, reduces risk of death or hospitalization because of heart failure and reduces risk of emergence of fibrillation of auricles by 47%, one of the frequent reasons of a stroke.

Besides, in defibrillators of Viva Quad XT CRTD function of remote monitoring is implemented. Thanks to the special MyCareLink monitor patients can independently, without waiting for queue to the doctor, to transfer data from the device for viewing and the analysis of diagnostic data to medical specialists. According to Medtronic, such scheme of work saves time both to the patient, and the doctor, allowing to reveal timely the situations requiring medical intervention and to help those who really need it.^[1]
