May 26, 2016 Lenovo presented the results of operations in the 2015-2016 financial year. The company recorded a loss for the first time in six years. The annual supply of Lenovo computers decreased by 6%, amounting to 56 million units. The entire global PC market fell 12%.[8]

Lenovo's losses are largely related to the cost of $923 million for the restructuring and liquidation of stocks of unsold smartphones.

In the 2015-2016 fiscal year, Lenovo shipped 66.1 million smartphones to the global market against 76 million a year earlier. Outside of China, tube shipments rose 63% to 51 million units.
