2024: Launch of robotic production of parts for trucks with investments of 100 million rubles
On August 1, 2024, it became known that in Naberezhnye Chelny, NPO Rostar launched an automated section of the full-cycle foundry for the production of automotive components for trucks. Investments in the project exceeded ₽100 million, of which ₽57,4 million in the form of a concessional loan under the federal-regional program "Component Products" was provided by the Federal Industrial Development Fund (FRP), and ₽24,6 million - the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan.
According to the Industrial Development Fund, thanks to the purchase of technological equipment at the expense of the FRP, the company rebuilt the site for the production of components from semi-manual to automated format. This will reduce the cost of manufactured products by almost a third, replace part of imports and increase the level of localization of trucks produced in Russia. The volume of production after reaching the design capacity will be 2.4 thousand tons of products per year.
As part of the project, the production of parts of the brake suspension and steering levers of trucks - various types of brackets, as well as shoes and spring pads - has been established. The main customers are KamAZ, Ural, NEFAZ and AMT N.V. According to the company's estimates, the share of imported automatic suspension and steering components on the Russian market in the freight transport segment is about 80%. Due to the increase in production, the company plans to increase its share from 14% to 20%, replacing foreign counterparts.
"As a Russian manufacturer of auto components, we are interested and very profitable in the proposed conditions for FRP loans for the modernization of production and the development of import substitution," said Sergey Klyuchnikov, General Director of NPO Rostar LLC. Thanks to the launch of the automated foundry site, it was possible to replace the purchased raw materials of the "casting" with its own. In addition, most of the materials and raw materials used in the production of auto components are domestic. Product localization is 85%.[1]
