IMEMO of E.M. Primakov (scientific research institute of world economy and international relations of E.M. Primakov of RAS)

Federal State Budgetary Institution of science "The National research institute of world economy and the international relations of E.M. Primakov of the Russian Academy of Sciences" (the IMEMO of RAS) is created in 1956.

For 2018 the IMEMO of RAS conducts basic, exploratory and application scientific research in the following directions:

Global development and national interests of Russia:

• theories of the world economy and international relations;
• forecasting of global social and economic and political development (long-term and short-term forecasts);
• trends and perspectives of the innovative development as most important factor of economic growth, tools and results of scientific and innovation policy;
• structure formation, regulations and principles of global management and regulation of international and political processes;
• socio-political transformations in the modern world, sociocultural factors of world development and modern social and political institutes, ideological and political delimitation and identity.

Evolution of a system of the international relations, risks and guarantees of the international security:

• evolution of a system of the international relations, change of its configuration, formation of new problem fields;
• international security, prevention and settlement of the international conflicts, arms control, counteraction to terrorist and other cross-border threats;
• situation analysis of key issues of relationship of Russia with the outside world, calls and opportunities of ensuring its interests in the forming polycentric world.

Complex researches of economic, political and social development of the leading countries and regions of the world:

• economic, political and social development of the countries and regions of the world;
• integration and disintegration trends in world economy and international policy at the global and regional levels;
• social and economic and political processes in the former Soviet Union: strategic interests of Russia;
• social and economic dynamics, calls of social security, migration processes.

• The major trends and new quality characteristics of world economic development, Russia in global economy:
• institutional and structural changes in world economy and the international job specialization;
• optimization of participation of Russia in world economic communications.
