Sabre selected Red Hat OpenShift for creation of modern architecture

On August 23, 2018 it became known that Sabre Corporation expands cooperation with Red Hat company, solution provider with the open code, within a strategic initiative on reconsideration of approaches to travel business.

Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform will become a basis for creation of the modern architecture including microservices, integration of development and operation of the software and cloud solutions within transition of Sabre to the Next Generation Platform platform.

Next Generation Platform is a basis of long-term strategy of Sabre. Red Hat provides us the container platform of a corporate class for carrying out technology transformation. The changes implemented by Sabre will increase stability and security of technological solutions, will reduce time of their output to the market and also will accelerate development of additional opportunities, including based on the NDC protocol. The companies together will create "road map" on development of products. In the course of work Red Hat will adapt under requirements of Sabre.

Development of cooperation with Red Hat emphasizes intention of Sabre to complete transition from the operating system for mainframes – Transaction Processing Facility (TPF) – and confirms that all future developments of the company for retail, distribution and accomplishment of trade operations will be based based on the updated architecture.

Within creation of the Sabre platform signed agreements with Microsoft company for the translation of commercial applications on Microsoft Azure and also with Amazon Web Services for implementation of cloud strategy.
