2021: AOC I1601P
On July 6, 2021, AOC, which specializes in the production of monitors, announced the replenishment of the portfolio with the I1601P model. The 15.6-inch (39.5 cm) I1601P is compact and almost no different in size from the laptop display. The I1601P has received full HD resolution and an IPS panel that provides color saturation, proper sharpness and wide viewing angles (170 °/170 °). The device can be connected both through the USB-A connector and via USB-C thanks to a single cable, which is included in the package.
According to the company, the 15.6-inch I1601FWUX is equipped with USB-C connectivity, while the similar I1659FWUX is connected using USB DisplayLink technology using the USB-A connector.
The I1601P can be connected to laptops and devices equipped with USB-C using a single USB-C cable. When connected, the display receives power and video signal through USB DisplayPort Alternate Mode.
Although USB-C technology is becoming more common in July 2021, older laptops and other devices are not always equipped with this connector. In this case, the video signal can be transmitted using DisplayLink technology through a conventional USB-A port. For download, DisplayLink drivers are available for various operating systems - Windows, macOS, Android, ChromeOS, Ubuntu.
Thanks to the connectivity of both old and modern computers, you can distinguish several use cases of the I1601P. In offices and houses, where only a part of the devices are equipped with a USB-C connector, and the rest with only USB-A, the I1601P allows you to connect an additional display. On one monitor , you can open an email or instant messaging program, and on another, you can open a Word document or spreadsheet.
The design of the I1601P is minimalist: a gray aluminum rear panel, thin black frames on the front panel. The SmartCase cover included in the set will protect the display from scratches during carrying, as well as serve as a folding stand. With a weight of only 800 g, the monitor is light enough to be carried with you in a bag or backpack on planes, trains or on daily trips to work.
The AOC I1601P uses a 15.6-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, an update rate of 60 Hz and a response time of GtG 5 ms. Due to the brightness level of 220 nits and anti-glare coating, the device can be used in almost any illumination, and the technology will LowBlue reduce the level of potentially dangerous blue glow. You can install the I1601P monitor in landscape and portrait modes. Access the on-screen menu using physical buttons or i-Menu software. You can also enable Auto-Pivot.
The AOC I1601P monitor will go on sale in August 2021 at the recommended retail price of 21,269 rubles.
2018: AOC I1601FWUX
On September 5, 2018, AOC introduced the AOC I1601FWUX mobile monitor powered by USB-C. The model is equipped with a foldable cover, which also works as a stand in portrait and landscape modes. The monitor receives video signal and power through a single USB-C cable, which allows you to create a system of several monitors without using many cables and connectors, the manufacturer noted.
Explaining the prerequisites for developing the presented device, AOC noted that mobile work has become common for many businessmen, but the laptop screen does not provide the same productivity as office monitors. Attempts to open a spreadsheet and a mail client at the same time, or the code development environment, web browser and preview window, turn into torture.
The solution to this problem is to install multiple monitors. It is here, according to the developer, that the I1601FWUX powered by USB-C will be useful. A 15.6-inch IPS display with full HD resolution provides a larger screen area and expands performance. The use of two displays reduces the time and energy spent switching between programs with the constant use of Alt + Tab keys. When you open multiple application windows at the same time to solve a problem, you can focus on the task itself, and all the necessary information is at a distance, without the need to constantly expand and collapse windows and switch between programs.
As noted by AOC, with the I1601FWUX, users who work in the field can also take advantage of the second monitor, and they do not need cable bundles and heavy power adapters due to the ability to connect through a USB-C connector. When they return to the office, the monitor can also be used there to make the screen system even larger.
The presence of a second mobile monitor opens up even more opportunities for students. It became easier to prepare for the presentation by passing AOC I1601FWUX to their fellow students or turning it in their direction - instead of a projector - while the performance is going on or slides are commented on, AOC claims.
The AOC I1601FWUX is equipped with a 15.6-inch IPS panel, an automatic rotary design for portrait or landscape viewing and a fast USB-C standard for transmitting video signal and power at the same time.
AOC I1601FWUX is expected to be on sale in October 2018 at an estimated price of 15,769 rubles.
