Unigine is a 3D visualization software platform.
Based on Unigine, professional simulators can be created to train operators of all types of transport. Also, on the basis of Unigine, virtual polygons are created for training computer vision, the Unigine engine is used when working with architectural visualization projects, CAD, BIM and digital twins. Unigine's visual accuracy allows it to be used in industry with large-scale scenarios.
2024: Red OS Compatibility
The multi-platform 3D engine for creating simulators, video games and virtual reality systems UNIGINE is compatible with the domestic operating system Red OS. RED OS users can now develop interactive photorealistic worlds using the UNIGINE SDK software library. Red Soft announced this on April 26, 2024.
The UNIGINE editor offers the user an extensive set of tools for developing photorealistic interactive environments: a workspace for modeling and creating scenes, adjusting lighting, tools for working with sound sources, there is support for several programming languages. The RED OS operating system closes the developer's need for the rest of the software ecosystem: a set of compatible office programs, support for current programming languages, a convenient interface.
Solutions based on virtual reality are in demand not only in the field of entertainment (games, cinema), but are also actively used in the educational process (VR trainings for rescuers, doctors, working out emergency situations at work). Whether you create an interactive tour, an exciting game or a training simulation for emergency response services - any virtual worlds can now be embodied on the basis of an import-independent solution from RED SOFT, "said Rustam Rustamov, Deputy General Director of RED SOFT. |
UNIGINE's mission is to enable the creation of highly immersive virtual worlds for any industry. RED SOFT develops solutions that make it possible to work in an import-independent and stable environment. The compatibility of our products opens up good prospects for domestic developers, - comments Unijain. |

Compatible with XTAL VR headset
The Unigine software platform of the company of the same name Tomsk is now compatible with the professional VR scheme XTAL from the company, VRgineers which expands the possibilities for customers of both partners. This was TAdviser reported on October 5, 2018 in the company. "Unijain"
By ensuring Unigine's high-resolution compatibility with our enterprise-class helmet, we have expanded the training opportunities for operators of any transport - land, sea, air and space. Now they will be able to get a more realistic experience than before, - said the CEO and co-founder of VRgineers Marek Polcak. |
In addition to photorealistic 3D visualization, Unigine users need equipment that will enhance the immersive effect - a virtual helmet with a wide field of view. I believe that the compatibility of the Unigine engine with XTAL will be convenient for our customers: the level of immersion is increasing for them, the range of possibilities in professional simulators, CAD, BIM and other areas is expanding, "said Unigine CEO Denis Shergin. |
XTAL helmet manufacturers offer 5K image resolution, 170º angle of view, full-color 24-bit RGB colors and AutoEye, a technology that automatically aligns lenses with a particular user's eyes. Together with Unigine, the VR helmet provides a visually accurate and realistic image: up to the wake track behind the oil tankers and the play of light through the clouds.
Opportunities
As of October 2018, the capabilities of the system include:
- Creation of virtual worlds of huge scale (up to the entire Solar System)
- High performance for 3D scanned objects and CAD data
- Multi-channel visualization for ultra-high definition projection systems
- VRPN protocol to support different input devices
- Support for deep immersion into virtual environments: projection onto curved surfaces, video walls, CAVE systems, asymmetric projection devices, virtual reality helmets
- Support for the real geospatial data
- Non-real-time ultra-high-quality rendering mode for creating video content for movies and TV
- Easy integration with existing code
