SLG-Operating implemented the solution for E-commerce based on WMS Logistics Vision Suite

On October 17, 2018 SLG-Operating announced implementation of the logistic solution for E-commerce based on WMS Logistics Vision Suite. The project is implemented by Ant Technologies company, the exclusive representative of Mantis Informatics in Russia and WMS Logistics Vision Suite integrator.

Representatives of the warehouse company on the example of the project in the field of E-Commerce started in 2018 based on WMS Logistics Vision Suite told about features and modern calls for warehouse logistics in an E-commerce segment, shared project startup history in this sphere in a short time and the technological solutions implemented in the course of implementation.

Pyotr Sokolovsky, the head of the sales department of SLG-Operating, told about the dynamic growth of the E-commerce market for October, 2018, constantly changing external and internal environment of business and the increasing requirements to the level of warehouse service. Among features of the client provided in a case – the large online retailer in a "goods for the house" segment, he noted work with the range over 180 thousand SKU, consisting of 10 commodity groups from small piece goods to large-size furniture. For October, 2018 products more than 300 Russian and foreign suppliers are accepted and processed completely by the piece and shipped in number of over 1500 orders a day across all Russia.

Anna Berezovikova, the head of department of WMS and SLG-Operating business technologies gave the description of basic processes. She referred completely piece acceptance, lack of barcodes on the entering goods to features of the project, identification according to the photo, turnover to 70% of a drain in the first week, processing of fragile and oversized goods.

For storage optimization a system considers weight and dimensional characteristics of goods which at placement get to the respective storage area. Floor and pallet and rack locations for storage of not dimension, on shelves, in special adaptable racks of vertical storage, on veshala, and in the zone of close-meshed storage organized on 5-level racks of mezzanine type are implemented. When booking storage in a system the goods option "torsions" is available that is relevant, for example, for the zone "textiles". In this case height can be length or width, etc.

Using the module Link Manager allowing to create and support quickly universal interfaces the full integration of Logistics Vision Suite with the system of the client is performed. The automated data exchange with reports and notifications on all stages and the statuses of passing of goods through a warehouse according to the entering and outgoing orders is configured.

For October, 2018 for outgoing orders in a warehouse about 46 types of packaging with the automated selection of boxes and packagings of suitable capacity which are calculated a system taking into account fragility of goods and need of use of additional shock-absorbing packing materials of different type are provided: cardboard ranpak filler, pimply film of PVC, punched paper, etc.

The packed orders need to be sorted by routes and shopping mall in this connection, process of weighing of goods was automated. The shipping label is generated according to requirements of the main courier and mail companies, contains sending weight gross and significant information all logistically. A system considers requirements to complete traceability of all products passing through a warehouse that simplifies processing of client returns which are the integral and significant making E-commerce logistics.

Throughout all processing stages of products only two documents are printed: sheet of acceptance and sheet of shipment. All other processes are implemented without paper through manual data collection terminals.

According to the company, a command of department of WMS and SLG-Operating business technologies, working hard with Logistics Vision Suite years, could develop, configure and implement the most part of processes by own efforts. An indicator is the fact that on a project startup of the company only 9 weeks were required.
