2020: Appointment to the post of general director of Sberbank Life Insurance
On October 2, 2020, Sberbank announced the appointment of Igor Kobzar as General Director of Sberbank Life Insurance. It is noted that the appointment entered into force after approval with the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
Kobzar replaced Alexei Leonenko, who headed Sberbank Life Insurance since March 2019. Leonenko decided to continue his career outside the Sberbank group. His new place of work is not disclosed.
It is noted that under the leadership of Alexei Leonenko, the insurance company switched to electronic document management with customers, reduced the period for resolving losses and provided continuous customer service during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Sberbank Life Insurance is the leader of the Russian life insurance market, said Natalya Alymova, senior vice president, head of the Wealth Management block of Sberbank, commenting on Kobzar's appointment. - Together with the Investment and Savings division, the company is working on the creation and improvement of investment and savings life insurance products, which, along with other Sber products for retail investors, are combined under a new brand - SberInvestments. I am sure that Igor's long-term investment experience will be useful for the implementation of these tasks. |
According to the Insurance News Agency, the reason for the change of the general director of Sberbank Life Insurance could be a decrease in the rate of development of the insurer recently (especially during the period of severe restrictions in the spring and summer of 2020, which affected the bank sales channel).
In January-June 2020, insurance fees for the company fell by 40%, to 46.3 billion rubles. Payments, on the contrary, increased by 40% and amounted to 19.5 billion rubles. The increase in payments should be due to the end of three-year investment life insurance contracts concluded in 2017.[2]
