Integration with the Exonum blockchain platform
On October 25, 2018 the Bitfury Group company announced the cooperation with PatentBot for creation of a system on the basis of blockchain technology which will allow to mark the documents confirming copyright using digital time stamps. This system provides a safe and reliable method of confirmation of authorship and protection of intellectual property.
PatentBot is a bot registrar of trademarks with which document registration takes no more than 10 minutes. Integration a blockchain in its services will help to simplify and protect a complex system of copyright. To acquire copyright, creators need to confirm the superiority in the embodiment of the idea in life and existence of the verified record about date of creation and the work content.
In the 18th century authors sent the works to themselves by mail. As it is paradoxical, this method is used and today. Itself can call sending letters a traditional method of marking. Printing of post office in itself with indication of time served as a peculiar proof that the work was created in certain time. The letter opened in court in case of a dispute. We decided to facilitate this process using blockchain technology and are glad to work on this important project together with Bitfury company. Thanks to integration a blockchain for confirmation of authorship of materials users do not need to print letters, to visit post office, to pay the postage due, to send an envelope and to store it. Instead it is necessary to load the materials on the PatentBot blockchain platform, thereby having created the verified digital time stamp which serves as the proof that the user owned these materials in certain time. Thanks to blockchain technology this information is protected and is easily checked in case of jurisdictional disputes.
After sending the file you receive it back in encrypted form with the tag specifying enciphering time. Then you receive a key using which it is possible to open this file. In other words, you have a reusable digital envelope which allows you to confirm the authorship in the system protected from cracking. And in case of disputes in the future you can use this record. For solution deployment PatentBot will use the Exonum blockchain platform from Bitfury company.
We completed smooth integration of Exonum with confidential data of users of the PatentBot platform, guaranteeing their maximum security and the invariance. Records on the basis of blockchain technology are easily available and can be used in courts as the checked facts. Thanks to the Exonum platform all registration of copyright, involved in process — from the legal agencies to regulating authorities, individuals or the enterprises — can easily fulfill the requirements and take advantages of simple and effective marking using time stamps.
