The Sonet company during the period from 2015 to 2017 within strategic development of IT infrastructure of Balakhna pulp and paper mill "Volga" set a flash array of a corporate class of HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7200c All-Flash.

Before implementation infrastructure of plant consisted of server the equipment HPE, several C7000 baskets and two DWH HP EVA. It was required to increase performance of DWH in communication by the growing requirements ERP- systems.

In 2015 the decision on purchase of storage system of HPE 3PAR StoreServ 7200c All-Flash which consists completely of SSD disks was made. The decision was made for two reasons: first, there was already successful experience with the equipment of NRE, and secondly, attracted a possibility of on-line data transfer from arrays of EVA without stopping of work.

"Buying this array, we could implement flexibly it in infrastructure and transfer to it loading with the minimum idle time. As a result received much higher performance".

Migration of virtual machines took place simply and quickly. When testing the speed of some transactions increased at 10-15 times. And performance of work of the ERP system increased by 20-30%. Also operating costs of plant decreased. Thanks to the project costs for support of old arrays due to transfer of basic data are excluded and also works on transfer of physical servers to virtual environment are finished.

Upgrade of an array for additional increase in disk capacity and performance became the next stage of the project in 2017. Such planned approach allows the staff of Volga plant to work in the IT system without "fires" and excess costs.
