Biography

Education: the highest, mathematician, Ural State University, 1974 of the termination.

Having graduated from Mathematics and Mechanics faculty UGU, Boris came to NPO Uralsistem. For several years promoted - became the chief designer. Developed and implemented an ACS of industrial enterprises, and the geography of works was very extensive - from Tomsk to Tallinn.

In 1989 several people from this NGO organized cooperative from which then the Korus company grew, having inherited the name of the joint venture created by cooperative with the French company Quortex which is engaged in automation of light industry.

Business began with delivery of the PC and software implementation - in particular, accounting of own development. Any "most important task" at foundation of the company was not put - just wanted to work and earn money intensively. Soon in the company there was a network department, were engaged not only networks based on Novell software, but also Worldwide network, the first in Yekaterinburg having provided an Internet access channel.

Over time the Korus company became the dealer practically of all leading suppliers of "iron" and software (before crisis there were about 50 vendors), worked with all large distributors. And sales volumes were like that that almost at each supplier it appeared in top ten.

According to Boris Shimanovich, the company had no big failures, but crisis of 1998 taught much. After it understood that it is necessary to improve seriously company management, to be engaged in strategic planning.

But here one sad event was remembered. In the winter of 1994. KamAZ loaded with the computers intended for sending to Yekaterinburg was hijacked from the Moscow Garden Ring, directly from office "Stipler" - armed attack. At that time it was big money - about 300 thousand dollars. But partners - same Stipler, LANIT helped.

Boris Shimanovich specially did not study modern methods of management, but constantly reads textbooks on management. He emphasizes:

"I am the developed person - was the chief in Soviet period. As I like to manage and build firm, so I also do it. I take at work on 10-12 h in day and if I myself break and do what is not pleasant to me, it will be absolutely heavy. You are engaged in business not only for the sake of money, but also for pleasure from the made work".

Boris considers the main achievement that his company grows and develops that it is the leader of the regional market.

In 2001 Shimanovich did not exclude that Quorus AKS can become branch of any large Moscow structure. But only if "will well purchase, there will be successful arrangements on management".

Family

Marital Status: he is married, there are children - the son, the daughter and the grandson. For 2001 the son works, the daughter studied in Canada.
