Moscow state humanitarian and economic university (FGBOUI VO MGGEU)

The Moscow State Humanitarian and Economic University (MSHEU) is the unique higher educational institution in Russia performing training of students with the violation of the musculoskeletal device (VMD) by the principles of inclusive education where a barrier-free environment for disabled students is fully created.

The main principle of educational policy of university since 2006 is implementation of the principle of inclusive education: at the university together with the students having NODA students without restrictions of health study. From 980 students studying for today in university more than 400 have no disability.

The university performs multilevel training in 9 specialties of secondary professional education, the 20th direction of preparation (specialties) of the higher education, the including 10 directions of training of bachelors, 1 specialties, the 6th directions of master preparation, 3 directions of training of the top skills, implemented including using e-learning and remote educational technologies and also preparatory department.

Uniqueness of MGGEU as educational organization of the higher education and scientific center for a research of numerous problems of disabled people with NODA and persons with OVZ consists that the disabled student gets to conditions of the purposeful complex pedagogical, medical, improving, psychological and social assistance in the field of adaptation and rehabilitation which main objective – recovery of the social and psychological status of disabled people, achievement by them of material independence, social adaptation and professional self-realization in modern living conditions.

MGGEU locates the qualified scientific and pedagogical structure providing high-quality training of students on all implementable OP.

Since 2009 the university gained the international recognition. It agrees to the quota places selected annually by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation through the international cooperation, training of the foreign citizens from the countries of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan who are disabled people and orphans is conducted.

Since 2006 the Paralympic movement on fencing, archery and other sports successfully develops in MGGEU. The best of disabled athletes – students of MGGEU represented Russia on Paralimpiadakh in Beijing and London: in 2012 at Paralympic Games in London the student of MGGEI Artakhinova Stepanida became the bronze medallist on archery, the fourth place in this competition was also won by the student of the University Lyzhnikova Marina. At the Paralympic Games in Sochi (2014) our graduate Ilya Volkov became the silver prize-winner on sledge hockey.

For the period existence of MGGEU more than 1000 certified specialists having OVZ are trained. The professional knowledge gained by students with OVZ in university and also implementation of the individual program of psychology and pedagogical and social rehabilitation allow our graduates to present adequately themselves at labor market and to take the place in public life.

The Moscow state humanitarian and economic university is created by the resolution of Council of Ministers of 10/11/1990 No. 1011 "About the organization in Moscow of institute nursing home for disabled people".

The Moscow institute nursing home for disabled people is renamed by the order of the Ministry of Education of Russia of 6/4/2002 No. 2089 into "Moscow State Humanitarian Institute Nursing Home" public educational institution of higher professional training.

The "Moscow State Humanitarian Institute Nursing Home" public educational institution of higher professional training is renamed by the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation of 7/14/2005 No. 682 into public educational institution of higher professional training for disabled people with violation of the musculoskeletal system "Moscow State Social and Humanitarian Institute".

The public educational institution of higher professional training for disabled people with violation of the musculoskeletal system "Moscow State Social and Humanitarian Institute" is renamed by the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation of 5/27/2011 No. 1890 into federal state-funded educational institution of higher education for disabled people with violation of the musculoskeletal system "Moscow State Humanitarian and Economic Institute".

The federal state-funded educational institution of higher education for disabled people with violation of the musculoskeletal system "Moscow State Humanitarian and Economic Institute" is reorganized by the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation of 7/15/2011 No. 2140 by accession to it of Open Source "Volgogradsky gosudarstvenny kolledzh professionalnykh tekhnology, ekonomiki i prava" FSEI, Open Source "Kalmytsky gosudarstvenny finansovo-ekonomichesky kolledzh" FSEI, Open Source Chelyabinskogo FSEI of professional teacher training college.

By the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation of June 06, 2014 No. 638 of FSBEI of a Higher Professional Education for disabled people with violation of the musculoskeletal system "Moscow State Humanitarian and Economic Institute" it is renamed into federal state-funded educational institution of inclusive higher education "Moscow state humanitarian and economic university".
