Shops ceased to sell " Yandex.phone " after 2-fold falling of the price

Retail networks completely sold out the smartphones " Yandex.phone " and ceased to offer it it to consumers. About it Kommersant was told in the press service of "Yandex". According to the edition, during all the time about 18 thousand tubes were activated.

According to the representative of VimpelCom, the peak of sales of " Yandex.phone " fell on August, 2019 when the price of the smartphone decreased up to 7990 rubles — more than twice concerning cost on start of sales. In Tele2 confirmed that the peak of aktivation of such devices in network fell on August.

Despite  rather small sales volume, in  "Yandex"  do not consider an experiment with  the smartphone failure and   do not exclude that " Yandex.phone " will receive a certain continuation. But  more detailed information in  the company  in this respect  was not provided.

We  relied  first of all on  a program component: wanted to show how the ecosystem of "Yandex" in  an optimal type when Alice is built in directly  iron can work. Also  we managed to show to the market in  what direction we  can work with  smartphone manufacturers"  — said in  "Yandex.[1]

Yandex sharply reduced the price of the corporate smartphone

Yandex Company in February, 2019 significantly reduced the cost of the first and still only Yandex.phone smartphone, nearly three months later from the moment of start of sales (the smartphone was announced on December 5, 2018 and it appeared in retail already next day). The gadget fell in price more than by 20%, having saved the initial specifications and a complete set of gifts which will be received by the buyer^[2].

In day of release cost "Yandex.phone" was 18 thousand rubles whereas now it can be purchased for 14 thousand rubles. In addition, there was an augmented list of retailers – now the smartphone can be purchased in "Coherent" and "Euroset" though earlier it was on sale only in online store Beru, networks "M.Video" and "Eldorado" and cellular shops "Beeline".

Representatives of "Yandex" said Vc.ru that "as well as other players of the market, through certain time after a model exit we review price policy and we reduce the prices".

Sales tend to zero

The announcement "Yandex.phone" did not cause a stir among Russians. The smartphone not really actively is on sale: as report Vedomosti, in December, 2018 through the whole country about 400 of its copies were sold. Statistics for the first two months 2019 does not reveal yet.

Did not help attract buyers also an opportunity to return a part of the money spent for the smartphone in the form of bonuses of "Yandex" – a semi-annual subscription to "Yandex.plus" and an unlimited amount of money to "Yandex.taxi" and to a purse in Yandex.Money.

Start of sales in Svyaznoy shops in Moscow and St. Petersburg

On March 1, 2019 the united company Svyaznoy Euroset"-" together with "Yandex" announced start of sales of Yandex. Phone in shops Svyaznoy and also in internet- svyaznoy.ru and euroset.ru shops. Cost smartphone for March 1, 2019 — 13,990 rubles.

2018: The announcement (in work)

On December 5, 2018 "Yandex" provided the first smartphone. Close integration with the voice assistant Alice became his feature.

"Yandex. Phone" received eight-nuclear processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, 4 Gbytes of operational and 64 Gbytes of a fixed memory.

The display is characterized by the 5.65-inch diagonal and resolution capability   2160 x 1080 pixels. The main camera is supplied in pair of modules (on 16 and 5 megapixels), and the front camera is created 5 megapixels.

The module of wireless communication of NFC, the slot for the memory cards microSD, the 3.5-mm audioconnector for connection of earphones and the rechargeable battery with a capacity of 3050 mAh which is charged via the USB connector Type-C were also introduced into innovation hardware, and function of express charging for  an hour is available.

The body of the device is executed of glass (front and back panels) and aluminum (lateral faces).

The Android operating system  8.1  Oreo into which the voice assistant Alice is deeply integrated is responsible for a program basis. He "listens" to the user even at the switched-off screen and  responds a sound signal if he distinguishes that the owner of the smartphone addresses  her. One of  new features of Alice  — it is able to filter now spam calls,  displaying warning of the user at an incoming call from  suspicious number.

Alice will not only help, but also to foresee: for example, if in the city of a stopper, it reports that the road to the house will borrow longer than time, than usually; will warn about a cold snap. 

Deep integration of the voice assistant Alice became the main feature of " Yandex.phone ".

"Yandex. Phone" will go on sale on December 6, 2018. Its cost is 18 thousand rubles. Buyers of the smartphone will receive a semi-annual subscription to Yandeks.Plus service which allows to receive discounts for different company services, for example, when using " Yandex.music " or " Yandex.taxi ".
