CBS upgraded virtual environment of Puratos in Russia with implementation of DWH of HPE Nimble

On December 12, 2018 the CBS company announced project completion on upgrade of virtual environment of Puratos company, having implemented HPE Nimble storage system.

Project Tasks

Before Puratos company there was a problem of upgrade of the current IT infrastructure for ensuring smooth operation of production lines in mode 24*7. The storage system was one of key nodes which needed to be mentioned within this project. It had to ensure effective and trouble-free functioning of operator jobs in virtual environment.

Project Progress

As the platform the solution HPE Nimble is selected. This solution allows to provide an availability indicator over 99.999% that conformed to requirements of business. The similar indicator in Nimble is implemented including at the hardware level due to high fault tolerance of a disk subsystem and multilayer control of integrity of the written and stored data. In addition the Nimble system allows to increase performance and power of a system without essential breaks in work.

In the company HPE Nimble CS1000H was set. It is a hybrid array with a full range of functionality of Nimble. The high-available cluster of VMware vSphere is connected to storage system. Connection of servers was executed under the Fiber Channel protocol. As switches of SAN network Brocade devices are used. For ensuring continuous monitoring and projective support the Nimble system is connected to a cloud service of InfoSight.

Project Results

Implementation of HPE Nimble allowed to increase fault tolerance of a subsystem of storage of a cluster and to reduce time of forced idle times of IT systems. For December, 2018 recommendations about further improvement of work of an array, information on performance of an array and surrounding infrastructure on all way from applications to data and automatic warnings of potential malfunctions on the basis of universal experience of users of systems connected to HPE InfoSight are in real time available to IT department of Puratos. It directly influences operational indicators of the enterprise due to stability augmentation of work and reduction of idle times.

High-speed performance of applications and services increased up to 15% thanks to technology of hybrid data storage HPE Nimble.
