In Infor IoT integration into the solution for management of fixed assets of the enterprise (EAM) is implemented, and now Infor IoT is ready to support the devices deployed as locally, and in cloud environments.
By estimates of IDC, by 2025 in the world there will be more than 41 billion IoT-devices connected to the Internet. According to Gartner, the total number of the IoT-devices used in ten key segments for 2020 will grow by 1 billion and will be 5.81 billion units. Segments of automation of buildings (42%), automotive industry (31%) and health care (29%) will grow most quicker.
The solution Infor IoT will help the companies to optimize management of fixed assets due to effective use of opportunities of Internet of Things. For this purpose the following functions, systems and tools are provided in Infor IoT:
- The portal of devices (Device Portal) the Portal allows without excess efforts to register and initialize new devices and templates of devices. Here all information on devices registered and active at present is available.
- The lake of data (Data Lake Storage) All entering data streams from the devices registered on the portal of Infor IoT devices automatically remain in Infor Data Lake. Collected data can be taken using the solutions Infor Coleman and Infor Birst for further processing.
- The analyst Vozmozhnosti of Infor IoT are not limited to extraction of data from Infor Data Lake and use of the BI tools. In the solution there is the whole set of the analytic functions integrated directly into the portal of devices. It allows to visualize data on the fly and to submit them in different formats.
- The engine of processing of rules (Rules Engine) the Engine of processing of the rules Infor Rules Engine allows to configure different options of "automatic reaction" of systems to the data arriving from Internet of Things. For example, it is possible to create the rule which will activate ION Workflows Business Process Management Suite if indications of any device go beyond the set threshold values.
- Integration with EAM Infor IoT provides synchronization of devices of Internet of Things with the assets entered to the EAM solution. It facilitates and accelerates initialization of devices. Double-ended synchronization guarantees that all devices will be correctly connected with the corresponding assets.
- Forecast maintenance (Predictive Maintenance) using Infor IoT it is possible to reduce the periods of unplanned idle time and to increase efficiency of the equipment and use of fixed assets. Involving possibilities of Infor Rules Engine, Infor ION and Infor Coleman Machine Learning, Infor Coleman AI, Infor IoT reveals deviations from an optimal operation mode or use and using advanced API creates the notifications, maintenance requests and orders necessary for elimination of a problem.

On December 20, 2018 the Infor company submitted own platform for Internet of Things — Infor IoT. The platform is unrolled in the multi-user environment. According to the developer, she provides data collection from the IoT-sensors located worldwide and guarantees safe storage and processing of any information volumes. The platform synchronizes signals from IoT-sensors with operational data on tangible assets of the enterprise from the solution Infor EAM Asset. Thus, business receives broader and clear picture of the events, can use possibilities of artificial intelligence and improve quality of the organization of workflows, reportings, analysts and identifications of emergency situations.
According to the statement of the developer, the Infor IoT platform is integrated with Amazon Web Services IoT (AWS IoT) therefore advantages of AWS are available to users of a product: high scalability, stable work and data security. The analytics in Infor IoT is implemented based on Birst — the cloud BI solution. Birst allows to integrate the data arriving from hundreds of thousands of IoT-devices and to create of them correct frameworks for key indicators. As a result the company has an opportunity to trace, analyze and raise indicators of operational efficiency, sales and marketing and also to conduct monitoring of compliance of business processes to requirements of the legislation.
