2019: Hoster.by purchased Belinfonet and "Ekstmedia"

The Belarusian commercial operator Hoster.by for a short time frame purchased two competing companies at once: Belinfonet and "Ekstmedia". The cost of transactions is not specified. As a result of these acquisitions of Hoster.by actually now competes only with similar state projects, reported the information and analytical Digital.Report portal on January 3, 2019.

The Belarusian hosting operator started customer service of Belinfonet company last 2018. Transfer of clients took place on the commercial bases. Actually, the hosting - business Belinfonet was purchased by Hoster.by, and telecommunication networks are purchased by the foreign telecom operator of velcom.

At the beginning of 2019 Hoster.by announced purchase of Eksmedia company with the history of work in the Belarusian market in 17 years. As you know, clients of "Ekstmedia" already received "farewell" letters from the operator guide.

On the eve of New year we decided on a number of serious updates of business — from workflows to global priorities and the development strategy of the company. In 2019 Extmedia will continue the work under a brand of cloud hosting provider hoster.by that through joint efforts to develop the market of a hosting, and you could receive even more high-quality service on the modern server hardware. Since January 2, 2019 our new clients will already accommodate on servers of the updated infrastructure, and services will be rendered according to the hoster.by standards, said in the "farewell" message of "Ekstmedia" which was at the disposal of Digital.Report.

According to experts of Digital.Report, decrease in level of the competition in the Belarusian market of a hosting owing to what clients can lose the choice, and, maybe, and opportunities to receive available and technological services can become result of these transactions. On belief of representatives of the acting players of the market, it will not occur.^[1]

When the average bill of the company is small (monthly payment on a standard rate for a hosting averages 15 rubles), and only the big customer base allows to get profit, there is one exit: enlargement, merge to other hosting providers. This trend is observed around the world. Contain the round-the-clock technical support, render service of the high level — costly. It is necessary to involve a certain number of specialists, to constantly buy the modern equipment. All this means considerable expenses and if clients are not enough, then in principle such business is not profitable — Sergey Povalishev, the director of Hoster.by commented on transactions. — 5-10 years ago in Belarus there were several dozens of hosting providers, and the most different. They were not only in the capital, but also in other regions. Against the background of gain of a role of the state cloud platform commercial providers will integrate because only due to process automation and the big customer base they will be able not only adequately to develop and profit, but also in general to exist.
