Abbreviation of Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (Asymmetric DSL). In such line data transfer rate from network to the user is much higher, than data transfer rate from the user in network. It is suitable for the organization of networks in which users receive bigger information volume, than transfer. Allows to transfer data with speed of 1.54 MB/sec. to distance up to 5.5 km on one twisted pair cable of wires. Transmission rate about 6 — 8 MB/sec. can be reached at data transmission on distance no more than 3.5 km (on wires with a diameter of 0.5 mm).
