Friendship of Microsoft and Pentagon grows stronger. The new contract for $1.8 billion is signed

On January 11, 2019 it became known of the new large contract which was signed by the U.S. Department of Defense with Microsoft. Cooperation between the Pentagon and the world's largest software maker extends.
Microsoft received the purchase order of corporate services American defense and also to intelligence services and the coast guard. The cost of the contract signed for five years is $1.76 billion.
Explaining the choice of products of Microsoft, the Pentagon reported the following:
Services in creation of products of Microsoft for software developers and development teams of products allow to use a number of proprietary resources and source codes and also the first-class support of Microsoft for tools, databases of knowledge, the help in problem solving and the user changes of the source code of Microsoft, when necessary". |
Earlier Microsoft unconditionally supported the U.S. Armed Forces, signing with them numerous contracts and expressing the intentions "provide to the American military access to the best technologies … to all technologies which the company creates".
Some staff of Microsoft acted against their work was used for "increase in death rate". About it the general counsel of the company Brad Smith promised that Microsoft "will be engaged in the solution of ethical questions which arise together with new technologies".[1]

Microsoft still wants to fight for the cloud contract of the Pentagon for $10 billion in which Amazon is considered the main favourite. In the first quarter 2019 Microsoft is going to receive the certificate allowing the company to work with the state data of top secret level.
