2019: The announcement of "smart" tags for car tires using technology of Internet of Things

On January 17, 2019 the Ruselectronics company announced State Corporation Rostec plans for development of "smart" tags for car tires using technology of Internet of Things. Tags will be able to collect information on bus state – pressure, temperature and also to calculate an exact run of each wheel. It will be possible to get data access through mobile application or the web interface. It is going to bring a product to the market by 2020.

Ruselectronics announced smart tags for car tires with technology of Internet of Things

As reported in company "Ruselectronics", "umnye" of a tag in which development the Research institute of the microelectronic Progress equipment of Ruselectronics holding will be engaged, will be vulcanized in a car tire. They will allow to obtain operational information about a status of buses, to perform check of a run of the specific bus and to provide control of parameters of operation. Besides, tags will allow to automate an inventory control and to stop turnover of counterfeit products.

"Use of "smart" buses on the basis of technology of Internet of Things will allow to increase safety of vehicles significantly. In the long term "smart" buses can be integrated with the navigation and coherent ERA-GLONASS terminal which is also planned to release of Microelectronic Research Institute Progress. It will allow to tell data to the dispatching center that the manager could contact the driver and in advance warn him about possible problems with buses on the car. This function will be demanded, for example, by large taxi pools and the logistic companies".

In a tag there will be a battery, the antenna and also the printed circuit board with a set of sensors. On a payment it will be possible to install pressure sensors, temperatures, an inclination, the accelerometer and other elements – depending on requirements of the customer. When using a "smart" tag with technology of Internet of Things information on the bus will be transmitted through mobile communication on system servers. It will allow to obtain quickly information on bigger number of parameters in comparison with the tags based on technology of radio frequency identification which stores only a basic information about a product, its location, warehousing and issue date noted in Ruselectronics company.
