GreenMDC has scaled the modular data center without disconnecting the operating equipment. During the project, the current ScalableMDC TelecomOutdoor NGm data center, created five years ago for DKS (Tver), was expanded. The expansion module took only one day to install.

GreenMDC has completed the delivery, installation and launch of the expansion module for the company's World Data Centre. DCS The project was carried out 5 years after the start of operation of the data center and was implemented using the "hot" scaling technology available for scalable GreenMDC solutions. It makes it possible for workers to servers safely increase the size and useful power of existing World Data Centres by adding one or more expansion modules.

Since 2018, DCS in Tver has successfully operated the ScalableMDC TelecomOutdoor NGm model World Data Centre with 6 server racks and 24 kW payload, consisting of two modules, as the main data center. In 2023, there was a need to install additional computing equipment and therefore increase the number of racks to 10, and the useful power to 50 kW.

The expansion module for the World Data Centre was manufactured at GreenMDC production, equipped with the necessary engineering equipment, tested under load, delivered to the site in Tver and attached to the existing data center. The installation and installation of the additional module took only 1 day.

Installation, connection, adjustment and switching of the systems were carried out without disconnecting the already operating equipment. At the same time, it is important that we not only connected an additional room to the World Data Centre, but safely increased the size of the auto with the existing equipment by 1.5 times and the useful capacity of the World Data Centre by 2 times. No one has done this in our country yet, "said Georgy Malyshev, commercial director of GreenMDC.

Even at the stage of construction of the data center, in 2018, we thought about a possible expansion in the future. That is why a choice was made in favor of a modular data center. As a result of installing an additional module, we increased the turbine hall by 4 racks and brought the total number of racks to 10. This will allow DCS to freely deploy equipment for both new and current projects in the future, "said Konstantin Muravyov, head of the Networks and Telecommunications group of DCS.

During the project, in addition to the work on the "hot" scaling of the World Data Centre, the upper level of the dispatching system was replaced.

As in the previously manufactured World Data Centre for DCS, the expansion module made the most of the equipment and materials of this company: cable structures, a system of bearing profiles, electrical installation products, server cabinets, uninterruptible power supplies, SCS and electrical equipment, including switching equipment and intelligent multimeters.

Russian-made precision cabinet air conditioners "VAIBOS" are used as the equipment of the heat removal system.

2019: GreenMDC Modular Data Center put into operation

On January 29, 2019, GreenMDC announced that the GreenMDC modular data center, equipped with modern engineering infrastructure components manufactured by DCS, was manufactured, installed and put into operation in 2018. The domestic complex solution is installed at the DCS production site and performs the functions of a computing center and a showroom for demonstrating the DCS equipment.

The complex solution was developed by GreenMDC on the basis of the TelecomOutdoor NGm scalable World Data Centre model. Engineering systems are designed on the basis of equipment and materials of DCS - a manufacturer of cable-carrying systems and low-voltage equipment.

World Data Centre created by GreenMDC and "Dielectric Cable Systems"

In initial configuration World Data Centre consists of two modules - starting and expansion modules. They are designed to accommodate up to six 600mm 42U racks. However, the World Data Centre can be increased to 18 racks by installing additional expansion modules. ScalableMDC TelecomOutdoor NGm is developed using hot scaling technology, which does not require disconnection of operating equipment.

server SCS UPS Racks and DCS production are installed in World Data Centre. The uninterruptible power supply system is implemented on the basis of two monoblock UPSs, which in case of emergency will maintain the World Data Centre of operation at full load for 7 minutes. Each module houses local air conditioning, fire-fighting automation, gas fire extinguishing, monitoring and local electric distribution network. Engineering systems are reserved according to the N + 1 scheme.

The appearance of the World Data Centre is made in the corporate style of the DCS using the symbols of the company, thanks to which the World Data Centre harmoniously fits into the complex of production buildings of the DCS.
