On March 4, 2019 the Rostec company reported that ONPP "Technology" of A.G. Romashin manufactured the frameless body of the Egyptian EgyptSat-A spacecraft. The satellite launched on February 21, 2019 from Baikonur Cosmodrome became the third Russian spacecraft with the body made on special technology.
According to the company, the technology of the scientific and production enterprise consists in production of the frameless body of the satellite. Design features of the body allow to place in it thermal regulation panels with the integral power elements that increases space in the satellite which can be used for placement of the additional equipment. Spacecraft weight with such body is less than frame analogs for 15%, and assembly with a necessary accuracy can be made less than for an hour.
Frameless manufacturing techniques of satellites – own technical solution of the enterprise implemented in cooperation with partners – NPP TAIS. It allows to minimize labor costs and to reduce an assembly time, at the same time design and creation of a finished product takes less than three months from the moment of obtaining technical specifications. Earlier only build process could borrow before half a year. This essential advantage when implementing large-scale projects on creation of orbital satellite groupings. The EgyptSat-A satellite is manufactured for the benefit of the Egyptian National agency on remote sensing of Earth. It is equipped with the modern optical-electronic equipment with high spatial resolution. The spacecraft can conduct shooting in visible and infrared ranges in the panchromatic (black-and-white) and multispectral ranges. The device received the improved optical-electronic systems and an onboard complex of management, the high-speed onboard radio line and the upgraded solar batteries. The mass of the device is about one ton. Satellite service life in an orbit makes 11 years.
