At the beginning of April, 2019 Luxoft and Trend Micro announced cooperation within which they announced a joint product — the solution for protection of cars against cyber attacks. It is about the detection system and an intrusion prevention (IPDS). Its main following features:
- Security of V2X-communications from the remote or local attacks;
- Protection of cloud and mobile services, including wireless updates and resource management systems;
- Organization of safe work of automobile components, such as electronic control units, sensors, drives, etc.;
- Providing steady level of cyber security by means of permanent researches of threats and mechanisms of proactive control.
As noted in the press release, the automotive industry promptly develops: according to forecasts of analysts of Gartner, by 2025 on roads there will be more than 1.1 billion passenger and commercial vehicles with functions of connection to external networks. The concept of the connected cars (Connected Car) and mobile devices not only open new opportunities for producers, but also create new cyberthreats. The joint software of Trend Micro and Luxoft is expected fight against them.
Attached devices irrespective of their types should be protected from the very beginning, and this solution will allow car makers to build in necessary means for prevention of cyberthreats. Having integrated opportunities and experience of Luxoft in automobile area with the advanced examination of Trend Micro in the field of cyber security, we will be able to solve the new problems connected with digitalization of the automobile systems — the executive vice president for security of Internet of Things in Trend Micro Akihiko Omikawa said.[1] |
