2019: Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS with the built-in free hypervisor of AHV

On April 10, 2019 it became known that the companies Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Nutanix (NTNX) announced global partnership on delivery to the market integrated hybrid cloud on service model («as a Service», aaS). The offer represents the corporate cloud software Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS with the built-in free hypervisor of AHV delivered through an ecosystem HPE GreenLake. Thus, clients will receive completely managed hybrid cloud which considerably reduces total cost of ownership in the order IT infrastructure and reduces a payback period of investments. Besides, within this agreement partners of Nutanix will be able directly to deliver servers HPE with the integrated software of Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS.

Thanks to partnership of HPE and Nutanix the attractive alternative which solves many problems is created, reducing IT costs and complexity of corporate systems. The integrated offer provides completely managed hybrid cloud infrastructure provided on model "as service" and unrolled in data processing centers of customers or operators of DPCs.

The combination of an ecosystem of HPE GreenLake and the software of Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS is ideal for customers who would like to use Nutanix with the built-in hypervisor of AHV for such applications as support of crucial workloads and applications for Big Data, virtualization of the systems of first order, such as SAP solutions, Oracle and Microsoft and also support of the virtualized applications of Big Data, such as Splunk and Hadoop.

Customers of HPE GreenLake on model of service will get the following advantages:

  • Decrease in operating expenses, capital costs and also costs of support and professional services. The integrated offer promises customers considerable decrease in total cost of ownership the IT system. According to a research of the hyper convergent software Nutanix conducted by IDC by request of Nutanix, reduction in cost of operation for customers will make 60% within five years. Clients of Nutanix will be able to use the solution which is completely integrated, delivered directly from the HPE plants having the big park of the safe, installed server hardware HPE ProLiant and HPE Apollo from HPE and the software of Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS allowing to upgrade work of data processing centers and to unify support on the selected hardware and software platforms.

It is expected that the software of Nutanix Enterprise Cloud OS on HPE GreenLake and the integrated hardware-software solutions from Nutanix software on the HPE servers will be available in the third quarter 2019.
