On April 11, 2019 the DHL company started DHL Africa eShop service for global retailers which will allow to saturate with goods consumer markets of Africa.

The platform will open for the international trading companies the market of 11 African countries – the Republic of South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Mauritius, Ghana, Senegal, Rwanda, Malawi, Botswana, Sierra Leone and Uganda. The DHL Africa online store will work with use of service for Link Commerce startups from MallforAfrica producer.

Buyers will be able to pay purchases with usual methods – for example, through Paga services in Nigeria and M-Pesa in Kenya. The DHL Africa eShop application should become means using which the African consumers will be able to get acquainted with interesting foreign brands, many retail sellers in the USA and Great Britain do not send products to Africa.

DHL was started by the service which dug out the African market to hundreds of global retailers

MallforAfrica – the permanent partner of DHL since 2015 also works in 17 countries worldwide. Besides, this company already cooperated with some other large retailers, including Macy's and Best Buy. The company was founded in 2011 with assistance of Helios Investment Partners for problem solving which world consumer goods companies at entry into Africa face. The payment system of MallforAfrica serves as the digital broker and the logistical manager for retailers of the USA which are going to cooperate with a startup to sell the goods to the African consumers. And the goods delivery will be provided by DHL – the company intends to use advantages of the dense network of courier deliveries which is already created on the continent.

The enterprises of e-commerce, especially in Nigeria, already drew attention of investors who aim to get on the growing consumer markets of Africa. McKinsey & Company predicts that consumer spendings on the continent by 2025 will reach $2.1 trillion, at the same time will fall to the share of electronic trading up to 10% of retail sales.[1]
