InterContinental Shenzhen, Shenzhen Telecom and Huawei will create the first-ever smart hotel based on technology 5G

On April 19, 2019 the company Huawei announced signing with the companies InterContinental Shenzhen and Shenzhen Telecom agreements on strategic cooperation on creation of "the first-ever smart hotel" based on technology 5G. Partners will create the first in hotel business a complex 5G network with the integrated terminals and cloud applications. At the same time this project will lay the foundation for a digital 5G transformation of all hotel business.

According to the company, Shenzhen Telecom will set network a 5G equipment of Huawei in the territory of InterContinental Shenzhen to provide a continuous covering of 5G network as inside, and out of premises that will become the platform for the next generation of hotel services. Guests will be able to use a 5G-applications by means of the 5G smartphones and exchange service stations – to their services will be a 5G robots on a reception, cloud computing terminals 5G, cloud games 5G and rowing exercise machines based on technologies of virtual reality, 5G and cloud computing.

Shenzhen Telecom and Huawei jointly started system 5G Digital Indoor System on the first floor and in presidential numbers. In a lobby of hotel guests can come into 5G network by means of exchange service stations or own smartphones. The efficiency of service increases due to use of the intellectual 5G robots providing such services as informing guests, orientation in the territory of hotel and the goods delivery. In presidential numbers where the network works, rowing exercise machines based on cloud VR, cloud games and 4K-movies are available to hotel guests.

The project jointly implemented with Shenzhen Telecom and Huawei opened before hotel of an opportunity. Using technologies, we can provide our future and freely implement it. The specialized 5G zone in InterContinental Shenzhen hotel is a first step for three of our companies in the direction of creation of a 5G hotels. We hope to perform complex transformation of smart hotels and digital hotels by means of implementation of technology 5G and are ready to continue cooperation with Shenzhen Telecom and Huawei to test more difficult scenarios of use of technology 5G in hotel business. Thanks to cooperation with Huawei, the Shenzhen Telecom company completed deployment of a specialized 5G zone on the first floor and in the presidential InterContinental Shenzhen hotel rooms in only two days therefore loading speed higher than 1 GB / was reached with and functioning of the hotel applications based on a 5G requiring wide bandwidth and short delay is ensured.
