On April 22, 2019 Huawei provided as the company claims, first-ever a 5G equipment for cars. The Chinese producer hopes to become the key supplier of technologies for pilotless motor transport.

The telematic product which received name MH5000 can be connected not only to networks of fifth generation, but also to 2G, 3G and 4G. However the main functionality of innovation is connected with technology 5G. The module, working in the range of 6 GHz, it is capable to transfer data at a speed up to 4.6 Gbps, and in a range of millimeter waves capacity reaches 6.5 Gbps.
Innovation is capable to provide instant data transmission between cars and road infrastructure, promoting thereby increase in security, decrease in consumption of fuel and emissions of noxious gases in the atmosphere and also improvement of the general transport situation in megalopolises. It is supposed that MH5000 will help development of self-governed machines and concepts (for example, C-V2X) wireless interaction of transport among themselves and with components of the transport systems.
The beginning of use of automobile MH5000 platform in commercial projects is planned on the second half of 2019.[1]
Huawei considers that the 5G module will make trips on cars and machines it is "more smart" and also will promote digital transformation of all automotive industry.
In the publication of Reuters of April 22, 2019 it is also reported that in recent years Huawei is tested by technologies for "smart" cars in the different Chinese cities, including Shanghai and Shenzhen. Besides, agreements on cooperation with a number of car makers, such as FAW, Dongfeng and Changan were signed.
