2019: Announcement
On January 24, 2018 Huawei announced as the company claims, the most powerful a 5G modem in the world. It allows to transfer data in cellular networks of fifth generation at a speed up to 6.5 Gbps.
The chipset under the name Balong 5000 works with autonomous (SA) and nonautonomous (NSA) network architectures and also maintains backward compatibility with technologies 2G, 3G and 4G LTE. During demonstration of innovation the producer told about results of testing: in the low-frequency range the device showed connection speed to 4.6 Gbps, and in millimetric — up to 6.5 Gbps. For comparison, the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 LTE modem can offer the maximum speed of loading of 5 Gbps.
Huawei calls Balong 5000 the first multimode chip with support of automobile communications of V2X (vehicle-to-everything). It is noted that the product can become in the highly reliable network afternoon with the minimum delay for the onboard systems of vehicles.
The CPE Pro Huawei 5G router became the first device using the Balong 5000 modem. It allows to download files of HD video of 1 Gbyte in size in only three seconds through networks of fifth generation.
The router intended as for house, and corporate use supports Wi-fi technology 6 and data transfer rates to 4.8 Gbps. In the router the corporate communication technology was for the first time applied to the smart house of Huawei HiLink.
Balong 5G will be brought on the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 exhibition which in February will begin in Barcelona. Most likely, on this action detailed specifications of a product and terms of its entry into the commercial market will be opened.[1]
