2019: A withdrawal of the rejected adapters

At the end of April, 2019 Apple announced that it voluntarily recalls the rejected three-contact adapters of a power supply. The research which showed that these devices can fail and hit the user with current at touch was conducted.

Apple knows only of six incidents connected with faulty adapters of a power supply. It is known that the rejected adapters were delivered complete with devices Mac-computers and IOS-DEVICES from 2003 to 2010, the same adapter was switched also on in a set of World Travel Adapter Kit Apple. Faulty devices generally came to the markets of Hong Kong, Singapore and Great Britain.

Apple suggested users to exchange free of charge rejected adapters for new. Define whether the power supply adapter enters the list of exchange, it is rather easy – faulty devices differ in specific appearance. The back panel of the rejected adapter white has also no texts. New plugs can be white and gray color and have texts on the back. Besides, new adapters have deepenings for fingers on each side and a little more thinly.

For exchange the company requires to confirm serial number of the Mac device iPad, iPhone or iPod. The user needs to register in acceptance in Retail Store Apple or to address in a support service of Apple. The program of a response does not influence the warranty rights of the main device and concerns the adapters of a power supply extended in continental Europe Australia, New Zealand To South Korea, Argentina and Brazil. The program of a response as the producer specifies, does not mention other adapters of Apple with the connector USB.

In 2016 because of the same problem of Apple recalled the adapters intended for network sockets which are used in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Argentina and Brazil.^[1]
