2019: Start of the probe in work

On May 27, 2019 the Ruselectronics company announced start in operation of the probe for measurement of parameters of an ionosphere of Earth. The automated installation collects data on passing of signals of navigation satellites through the upper atmosphere which is at the height of 60-1000 km and ionized by radiation of the Sun. The acquired information will be used for development of knowledge of influence of an ionosphere on radio propagation and also for creation of long haul systems.

Ruselectronics developed the probe for studying of an ionosphere of Earth

The transionospheric probe – joint development Omsk scientific research institute of instrument making (enters into Ruselectronics) and Institute of radiophysics and physical electronic engineers ONTs SO RAS.

Ruselectronics noted that scientific installation is implemented based on the double-frequency navigation receiving device. In each timepoint in a zone of radio visibility of the receiver there are not less than 10 navigation satellites GLONASS and GPS, at the same time translucent an ionosphere. Algorithms the transionospheric probe allow to calculate on the basis of the written double-frequency phase and code measurements the complete electronic contents (CEC) - the quantity of free electrons influencing radio propagation in an ionosphere.

The equipment can be also used as a part of complexes of short-wave communication for calculation of the most applicable frequencies including in hardly accessible areas.

In comparison with ionosondes on the basis of sweep frequency modulation the equipment of the provided probe is more compact, cheaper, simpler in installation and service and also has potential at the same time to process 15-20 routes and to function in the passive mode, emphasized in Ruselectronics.
