The ITSC signed the agreement with ER-Telecom Holding for the purpose of implementation of LoRaWAN technology

On June 11, 2019 it became known that two technology subsidiary companies of PJSC Gazprom Neft - the Information and Technology Service Company (ITSC) and Noyabrskneftegazsvyaz (NNGS) signed agreements with JSC ER-Telecom Holding on joint implementation of LoRaWAN technology. Both technology "subsidiaries" of Gazprom Neft are going to start several pilot projects with business customers for check of working capacity and suitability of LoRaWAN technology, to organize several research and development.

Signatures under agreements were appended by the CEO of ITSC LLC Alexey Poperlyukov, the director of the macroregion "Northwest" "ER-Telecom of Holding" Leri Gubkin and the CEO of NNGS LLC Ruslan Gulevich.

ER-Telecom builds federal IoT-network of the LoRaWAN standard, using the equipment of production of the French firm Actility. In 2018-2019 this operator is going to start network of Internet of Things in 60 cities of Russia with the population over 300 thousand people, including production sites of corporate clients.

Gazprom Neft builds the digital oil company managed on the basis of data and "digital doubles". A low layer of data - first of all from fields - it is very difficult to lift and deliver to developers, and the LoRaWAN technology is able to do it, and is very effective, commented Alexey Poperlyukov, the CEO of ITSC LLC

The LoRaWAN network can be unrolled very quickly - for only a few weeks. According to the arrangement, the NNGS will provide communication channels for connection of base stations of LoRaWAN and delivery of all data to the managing centers, and the ITSC will provide on their basis different services for different divisions and subsidiary companies of Gazprom Neft, added Ruslan Gulevich, the CEO of NNGS LLC

Agreements which the ITSC and the NNGS signed about "ER-Telecom Holding" are memorandums of intentions. As Alexey Poperlyukov explained, both technology "subsidiaries" of Gazprom Neft are going to start several pilot projects with business customers for check of working capacity and suitability of LoRaWAN technology, to organize several research and OKR. Answering a question of the correspondent of why the NNGS cannot unroll base stations of LoRaWAN by own efforts, without involvement of the commercial operator, Ruslan Gulevich told that at "ER-Telecom of Holding" there is already experience with this technology, the purchased network equipment and sensors, i.e. access to the created ecosystem^[1].
