2019: Function of virtual fitting of footwear
At the end of June, 2019 the Italian brand of an elite fashion Gucci released the updated application for iOS which allows buyers "try on" virtually the collection of Ace sneakers thanks to augmented reality (AR).
Users select Ace sneakers from the Gucci application and direct the phone camera to legs then they are offered to try on footwear virtually. The built-in function allows to remove itself with different models and to share pictures using e-mail or social networks.
The technology provided by a startup of Wannaby which purpose is AR commerce creation is the cornerstone. Earlier in 2019 the company released the beta of the last application - Wanna Kicks - which allows buyers to try on, pick up the size, style and to personalize footwear from the extensive directory.
The basis of the application was formed by algorithms of machine learning which estimate footwear provision in space taking into account changes of color, texture and lighting and also with completely equipped studio of printing which Wannaby uses for creation of 3D models of sneakers. The end result is the technology of tracking, rather reliable to adapt to different camera angles and to find the purpose, even when legs move and rotate.
Wannaby is not limited to footwear – the company is also going to be engaged in other segments, such as jewelry and clothes. Wanna Nails, the application which allows users "try on" nail varnish from certain collections with segmentation and repainting in real time is already created.
Wannaby competes with Mod'Face of L'Oréal company which develops individual AR-applications for hair, cosmetics and a jewelry for such brands as Amazon, Sephora, Estée Lauder and more than 80 others.[1]
