2019: Implementation of Internet broadcasting with the equipment Cisco

On July 26, 2019 the Russian operator of digital television the Tricolour implemented a possibility of Internet broadcasting using network solutions of Cisco. So, the constructed IT infrastructure became a basis for service of Trikolor Online TV which users can watch telecontent on all types of client devices — smartphones, Smart TV and receivers with support TV online.

The tricolor began to develop the platform of Internet broadcasting in 2017, and at the end of 2018 clients could watch TV channels on any mobile devices with operating system iOS/Android not only at home, but also beyond its limits with the application of Trikolor Online TV. Also there were versions of applications of the same name for Smart TV with the Android TV operating system and for Samsung Smart TV of page Tizen OS. For creation of the network IT infrastructure conforming to requirements of an era of digital transformation and providing service functioning, the partner whose solutions would help to process numerous requests in the conditions of the high-loaded Internet system, large volume of data to transfer and provide smooth functioning of service in general was required for the Tricolour.

Now we can provide to clients any modern services connected with online broadcasting including 4K, in the highest quality without thinking about the growing traffic. For July, 2019 the service of Trikolor Online TV is available on the most part of the receiving equipment for viewing TV from the Tricolour with a possibility of Internet connection. Broadcasting parameters in terms of image quality are comparable to what provides satellite broadcasting. In addition to a high image quality, clients receive several advantages of nonlinear services: an opportunity to look at archive of TV programs (Catch UP), to deliver video on a pause (TimeShift), to rewind and look at transfer or the movie since the beginning (Start Over).

Clients can use service in any point of Russia where there is an Internet communication, without binding to the coverage map of the territory a satellite signal.
