2019: Development of the Wi Complex - Fi - the equipment for placement in telecom wells of SCS

On July 26, 2019 Rostec reported that the Avtomatika concern started development of the Wi complex - Fi - the equipment for placement in telecommunication wells. Development is conducted at the initiative of Rostelecom company. This solution will allow to organize collective access points in the Internet in public spaces where there is no opportunity to use the hinged equipment.

Among such places there can be, for example, areas or park zones. In addition, the complex can be used as an additional tool of communication and the mass notification in case of emergencies.

The main features of the created equipment are high security from moisture and temperature differences and also the specialized antenna which allows to create the steady signal which is not losing quality at placement of the equipment underground. Access points will be created on the basis of the existing underground infrastructure of city telephone networks.

The provided equipment allows to unroll quickly the single Wi-fi city network, including in those zones where earlier it was impossible from the technical or esthetic point of view. In addition, installation of complexes in telecommunication wells reduces operating costs: need of lease of places for placement of the equipment disappears, problem solving of power supply and the organization of cable infrastructure considerably becomes simpler. The equipment is developed by JSC SIP RS entering into Avtomatika concern. In the coming months prototypes of the equipment will pass test in telecommunication wells of macroregional branch "Volga" of Rostelecom company in the Volga Federal District. Joint carrying out theoretical and pilot studies allows to define sales opportunities of access points of Wi-fi integrated into the available elements of city infrastructure, in particular into wells of the cable sewerage, and the organization of the pilot area of Wi-fi network on this base. After that the decision on start of the equipment in commercial operation will be made.
