At the end of July, 2019 Rostelecom began to start storage systems for performance of the Yarovaya Law. Before the operator used internal resources for data storage and delivered solutions only for tests.
According to Vedomosti, Rostelecom bought DWH Dome, and as the formal customer "National Technologies" (NT) — one of developers of systems for performance of the Yarovaya Law acted.
Rostelecom purchased the equipment in total capacitance of 319.3 PBytes, having paid about 3 billion rubles. It is delivered in data center in Udomlya.
The head of DWH of Jet Infosystems company Roman Harybin called the price of purchase quite adequate. For example, in 2018 the MegaFon operator purchased DWH Dome with a capacity of 100 PBytes for 923 million rubles.
The head of Norsi trance company Sergey Ovchinnikov says that for execution of requirements of the Yarovaya Law Rostelecom needs to buy in addition other equipment and to integrate it with the operating System for Operative Investigative Activities (SOIA). Expenses on it can be comparable to the cost of purchase of DWH, he considers.
The leading analyst of the Russian association electronic communikatsiykaren Kazaryan noted that operators have purchase plans approved with intelligence agencies and implementations of systems necessary for performance of the law, but large operators try to avoid large purchases as the equipment did not undergo certification yet and it can be unsuitable. However intelligence agencies, responsible for certification, urge to buy systems, promising to certify them in the nearest future.
Not only Rostelecom buys DWH for performance of the Yarovaya Law. Earlier in 2019 the Norsi Trance company was selected by the only solution provider for MTS and MGTS. Within five years MTS is going to buy from the company the equipment for 50 billion rubles.[1]
