2019: SA3400

On July 25, 2019 the Synology company provided scalable storage system for SA3400 large enterprises.

According to the statement of the producer, SA3400 there is the first model of the SA series which is the advanced version of RS18017xs + with the updated processor (from 6 to 8 cores) and with an increased efficiency at 50% of input-output operations per second at any reading by blocks on 4 CBs). SA3400 storage system with the 8-core processor of 2.1 GHz, the ECC RDIMM RAM with a capacity of 16 GB and a scaling option to 1536 TB at the minimum decline in production provides more than 1 petabyte of the general capacity that does this system, according to the producer, by an optimal solution for post-processing of video and deployment of large-scale video surveillance systems.

Characteristics of SA3400 mentioned by Synology:

• Scalability. Up to 180 disks with 7 modules RX2417sas or up to 96 disks with 7 modules RX1217sas
• Memory. DDR4 ECC RDIMM of 16 GB (with a possibility of increase up to 128 GB)
• Built-in interface 10GbE. 2 ports 10GbE and 4 ports 1GbE Ethernet with support of abnormal switching and Link Aggregation
• PCIe expansion: 2 slots of PCIe for additional network interface cards
• Performance. Consecutive capacity more than 5520 Mbps and 304,277 any input-output operations per second
