Softline estimated readiness of IT infrastructure of Eastwind for use of cloud-solutions

2019: Implementation of the consulting SAM Cloud Productivity project

On August 19, 2019 the Softline company reported that it implemented the consulting SAM Cloud Productivity project for Eastwind company. The analysis of readiness of IT infrastructure for use of cloud-technologies and the offer on its upgrade will help the customer to cut down expenses due to optimization of a management system for program assets and to increase efficiency of business processes

According to the company, for improving competitiveness of business Eastwind Ltd was going to use cloud-technologies actively. To define degree of readiness of IT infrastructure for their implementation, to estimate efficiency and expediency of transition to a cloud, the company management addressed Softline having experience of projects implementation in the field of Software Asset Management (SAM).

During implementation of the consulting SAM Cloud Productivity project specialists of Softline, using the instrument of inventory MAP Tool, collected data on the software of Microsoft set at the customer. The expanded analysis of the server systems and the current use of the PC as in development environments, and production environments was carried out to the shortest possible time. Application of the local version of Microsoft Office of different releases which led to errors of compatibility is revealed and increased time for data processing. Experts of Softline recommended to the customer to consider option of a subscription to the service Office365 Business Premium.

Within the SAM Cloud Productivity project representatives of Softline estimated a possibility of upgrade of IT infrastructure of the customer using cloud-technologies. The carried-out work showed that 98% of devices of the park of the computer equipment and 93% of servers are ready to implementation of a cloud service of Office365. Specialists formulated offers which will help the client to prepare IT infrastructure for transition to a cloud completely.

Thanks to experts of Softline the customer got acquainted with opportunities of the services intended for testing and development in a cloud platform of Azure. They allow to use functionality which is unavailable to the on-premise model, to get support and access to different platforms, such as Linux, Android, iOS in Azure.

After project completion of SAM Cloud Productivity our command gained knowledge which allows to organize IT infrastructure taking into account the last products and Microsoft services and also to receive the maximum return from investments in the software.
