2019: Start of service for purchase of geodata from satellites

On August 16, 2019 it became known that the Russian Space Systems corporation (RKS, is included into Roskosmos state corporation) will start service for purchase of geodata from satellites, including to individuals and the companies. Earlier only state structures by official request in Roskosmos could use service.

Customers will be able to receive on the computer or the smartphone pictures and analytical reports how there are buildings of residential objects and roads, information on lesovyrubka and emergence of illegal dumps of household waste.

Analytical information to pictures will be provided by RKS subsidiary company — "The Terra of Those". The cost of service will be individually calculated for each customer.

RKS is going to use a part of revenue for improvement of the systems of sounding of the earth. The cost of service will be determined in an individual order depending on the volume of the queried information.

Possibilities of a cloud service of RKS already tested when studying a flood on the river in Tulun of the Irkutsk region. Space shooting allowed to conduct continuous monitoring of a flood of the river in real time.

In May RKS was provided by the project of the Russian satellite system of world communication Air. Using it it is offered to provide mobile voice communication and the satellite Internet for personal users and Internet of Things^[1].
