Biography

Born December 8, 1966 in the city of Leningrad.

Education

He graduated from St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University with a degree in Organization Management.

Career

From May 2001 to April 2017, he worked at Klimov JSC, where he successively held the positions of Commercial Director, Deputy General Director for Commercial Affairs, Deputy General Director for Economics and Finance, Deputy General Director for Production, Director for Economics and Finance.

On April 12, 2017, he was appointed Deputy General Director for Sales and Service of United Engine Corporation JSC.

2024: Appointment as CEO of the United Engine Corporation

On November 6, 2024, Rostec State Corporation announced personnel changes in its aircraft building cluster. In particular, Alexander Grachev, who previously headed UEC-Klimov, was appointed to the post of General Director of the United Engine Corporation (UEC).

It is noted that Grachev has been working in the engine industry for more than 30 years. From 2017 to 2022, he served as Deputy General Director for Sales and Service of UEC, and then headed UEC-Klimov. Under his management, the company is said to have successfully implemented the tasks of multiplying production, ensuring high rates of fulfillment of the state order, developing personnel potential, as well as creating a family of new aircraft engines, in particular, VK-650V.

As the head of the UEC, Grachev will continue to solve the problems of transforming the corporation and ensuring high production rates of power plants to fulfill the state program for the development of the aviation industry until 2030. In addition, he will have to oversee the creation and production of engines for power and gas transportation.

Rostec General Director Sergei Chemezov stressed that personnel changes in the aviation cluster of the state corporation will contribute to the implementation of the state program for the development of the aviation industry until 2030, as well as the rhythmic implementation of the state defense order. According to him, the Russian aviation industry is developing under the "oppression of unprecedented sanctions pressure." At the same time, the creation of civilian aircraft and corresponding engines is carried out in parallel with the construction of combat aircraft. According to First Deputy Prime Minister of RFDenis Manturov, UEC will need to maintain its momentum to close the growing needs of the market.[1]

In 2012, he was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

In 2013 he was awarded the medal of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia "Marshal Vasily Chuikov."
