2019: Training of students for expert technically maintenance of terminals for electronic vote

Students of basic department of "Digital devices and information security systems" of Institute of cybernetics of RTU of MIREA were trained on expert technically maintenance of terminals for electronic vote in Avtomatika concern of State Corporation Rostec. On September 5, 2019 representatives of Avtomatika concern reported about it. Terminals of concern will become principal components of digital polling precincts in the uniform voting day on September 8, 2019.

Terminals for vote of Avtomatika concern

The program of training of service engineers included studying of technical characteristics of a complex, technology of connection and installation, the operation manual on the equipment, instructing in elimination of technical breakdowns and faults and also practical lessons on assembly of complexes. Service engineers of Avtomatika concern will be distributed on polling precincts for full control and maintenance of process of electronic vote.

The MIREA basic department trains specialists together with Avtomatika concern in "Information security of telecommunication systems". The department gives to students of 4-5 rates an opportunity of passing of a work practice at the enterprise. Upon termination of training graduates have a possibility of official employment in Avtomatika concern for continuation of the work begun on a work practice — the CEO of Avtomatika concern Vladimir Kabanov told.

As noted in Avtomatika concern, the terminal for vote will be used on elections for the first time. The device can be used for simultaneous elections of all levels — municipal, regional, federal. The terminal conducts the automated counting of votes, fixes results of vote and creates the report with data on vote. At the same time development of Avtomatika concern protection against external interferences. The solution is completely autonomous and isolated thanks to lack of the operating system and Internet access.
