The Asus company used the IFA 2019 exhibition at the beginning of September to provide the VivoWatch SP smartwatch which combines functions of the fitness tracker and the medical device.
The gadget, wearable on wrist, is supplied with the electrocardiographic sensor of a medical class and a pulsator of Pulse OX (the photoplethysmographic sensor). The smartwatch is capable to monitor in real time pulse, statuses of nervous system, the level of a stress and arterial blood pressure.
Besides, the device allows to define the oxygen blood saturation level. This function along with the built-in altimeter should interest fans of mountain ascensions.
The producer pays attention to presence of corporate HealthAI technology which "serves for the round-the-clock and long-term tracking of a trend of change of arterial blood pressure and the analysis of a status of an organism". HealthAI makes recommendations about maintenance of a healthy lifestyle — for example, advises a number of hours of a dream or number of steps which needs to be made in a day.
However, medical functions will be available not in all countries. Information on the Russian market was absent at the time of the announcement of a product.
VivoWatch SP have the high level of protection against water (5 ATM; it is possible to plunge on depth up to 50 meters) and are capable to work without recharge up to two weeks. In the smartwatch the GPS module by means of which some parameters of physical activity are traced (run speed, the passable distance, walking duration, etc.) found application.
Asus did not open detailed technical characteristics of a product, without having called either model of the processor, or amount of memory, or OS.
In day of the presentation of VivoWatch SP the Asus company did not set the product price, but reported approximate start date of sales — the fourth quarter 2019.[1]
