2019: Upgrade of the Google Global Cache complexes in the South and the North Caucasus

On September 9, 2019 "Rostelecom South" reported that in the South and the North Caucasus carried out upgrade of complexes Google Global Cache in own To IT infrastructure network. Now clients of the company had an opportunity to use internet- services Google without delays and at a high speed.

For this purpose specialists of Rostelecom installed additional servers in data processing centers of the company and reserved additional computing powers. Redistribution of traffic happened at night that clients did not feel discomfort from the works which are carried out on network.

Now YouTube for our subscribers always broadcasts in the HD format if like that is available in the source video file, and the delay of receiving content due to its localization in regions decreased from 30-40 to 2-5 ms. The similar solution gives the chance not only quicker to receive traffic, but also stabilizes work of our infrastructure that favorably affects clients,

Thanks to caching of Rostelecom services in the south lowered load of a backbone network of 260 Gbps and in case of an emergency situation interruptions in the Internet will not concern clients. The implemented project gives the chance to watch without delays video content of YouTube in the HD/UltraHD/4K format.

The Google company adheres to open policy of interaction with telecom operators concerning localization of their traffic. Rostelecom actively uses the opportunities for upgrade of network infrastructure given by partners which is the base for development of digital economy in Russia.
