2019: The organization of a wireless network WiFi for an expedition
On October 1, 2019 the LWCOM company announced solution development on the organization of a wireless network WiFi for reliable and effective data transmission like "judgment ice" for Federal State Budgetary Institution AANII.
In March, 2019 the large-scale project on studying of the Arctic in which scientific specialists of AANII took part was started. The forwarding vessel should freeze in ice to the north of Franz Josef Land then scientists had to conduct complex researches on the drifting ice floe: on it set the geophysical pavilion, meteorological and ice explorer laboratories. Operational transfer of the obtained information from the camp on the vessel and implementation of data exchange with the Continent became one of problems of an expedition. The LWCOM system integrator was engaged in solution development of a task.
Along with high reliability and simplicity of operation the geography of an object and specifics of use of the equipment imposed strict requirements in connection with the low temperature and strong gusty wind. To minimize possible operational risks for the project access points of external execution from Ruckus were selected. Implementation of infrastructure of a radio network was executed on MESH technology. Reliability and adaptivity of the solution to changes of provision of the camp at the movement of ices allowed to provide a stable relation between all objects.
Project implementation was made taking into account each part: planning of a radio covering was in a special way performed, selection of access points and external antennas with optimal direction characteristics was executed, up to calculation and production of non-standard high-frequency cables with the minimum attenuation at operating frequencies for ensuring maximum efficiency of functioning of an antenna-feeder path of the equipment.
Important conditions of the project were simplicity of deployment and operation of the solution during the expedition. Engineers of LWCOM considered recommendations and requirements of the customer based on his working experience provided training of specialists of AANII and also together with them performed preset tunings and testing of the equipment.
"The LWCOM system integrator worked in close cooperation with specialists of AANII, having carefully studied specifics of assigned tasks and feature of the project. Thanks to complex approach the equipment was picked competently up and the reliable solution for data transmission in difficult conditions of the Arctic expeditions" is developed, |
