BucketControl is an automated system of control of teeths of a bucket of the excavator on the basis of machine vision.

On October 9, 2019 the Tsifra company reported that it developed an automated system of control of teeths of a bucket of the excavator on the basis of machine vision of BucketControl. A system is intended for operational determination of existence or lack of crowns of a bucket of the excavator and provides functions of the notification of the operator of the excavator in case of loss or breakdown of a crown.
According to the company, this joint solution AI of division of Digit and VIST Group subsidiary company, the leader in the field of digitalization of mining industry.
The onboard controller collects images from the camera, processes them, using the internal software, analyzes and gives a signal to the operator in case of identification of loss or breakdown of a crown. Also degree of wear of tooth is estimated, and at achievement of critical value to the manager the notification goes. Data are transferred to the server in real time.
By means of machine vision we can find at once the broken-off tooth and avoid its hit in crushing department which breakdown can cost to the enterprise up to 200 thousand dollars. At extraction of ore the broken tooth can lead to damage of a ladle that leads to additional damage in several million rubles. Our BucketControl system will allow to reduce costs for search of the broken-off tooth for 90%. Unlike pictures after explosion, all depth of the opened breed is analyzed. It allows to increase the capacity of excavators to 3%, to minimize the probability of hit of not dimension in crushing department, to keep track of quality of explosion and as a result to increase export of breed to 10%.
