2019: Testing of the virtual simulator for personnel recruitment using VR

MTS, the Russian telecommunication operator and provider of digital services, together with Institute of the innovative development of SAMGMU began testing of the virtual simulator for selection and personel assessment using VR technologies. The MTS contact center in Samara became the experimental platform, reported on October 18, 2019 in MTS.

At a selection stage the candidate plunges into virtual space in which passes test tasks for speed of reaction, ingenuity, capability to perceive information on different communication channels, resistance to stress and identification of the main psychoemotional features. It is expected that results of testing will help HR specialists of MTS more precisely and to qualitatively carry out the assessment of candidates at employment. It, in turn, will allow to reduce costs for selection, training and adaptation of personnel, to attract more relevant candidates, and, therefore, to increase quality and service rate of clients who address to MTS contact center.

When developing the VR solution we made use also of the previous experience of the projects based on virtual reality created at our Institute of the innovative development and the psychological examination which is saved up by leading specialists of SAMGMU. The program analyzes several tens of psychoemotional reactions of applicants, automatically processes results of testing, excepting "a human factor" when interviewing, and quickly issues the conclusion about professional suitability of candidates. Besides, availability of the VR equipment allows to integrate quickly development into process of personnel recruitment for MTS contact center and if necessary quickly to scale it — the rector of SAMGMU Alexander Kolsanov told.

We already use own developments and digital solutions of partners for recruiting — robots, chat-bots, predictive models on the basis of Big Data — and constantly we work on gain of these tools new technologies. Now we also connect VR developments for search of candidates with necessary skills and the maximum potential — the vice president of MTS for personnel management Maria Golyandrina noted.
